About Analogical Photos

Hi! Welcome to my studio! My name is Huan, and I am a portrait photographer based in Hong Kong.

I have a simple goal in creating these portraits: I create them for the person who is in the portrait. Not for social media, not for branding, not for other people, but for the person in the photo alone.

It may sound a little confusing but let me explain.

We live in a society where various standards are constantly imposed upon us: we are told to be successful, interesting, presentable, just to name a few. We spend most of our time conforming to these standards. But during the process, we lost touch with the most important person in our lives: ourselves.

Sometimes it helps to take a good look into the mirror to regain that connection. And sometimes it helps to take a self-portrait, a point of reference, a space for the core where other people's opinion doesn't matter. And to say to ourselves: I see you.
